The rescheduled game is set for October 26 at 6:30 p.m. The venue is Daegu Samsung Lions Park. This must be distinguished from the original October 25 schedule.

The schedule in this article is based on KBO's October 25, 2026 announcement.

## Rescheduled Date for Samsung vs. KIA Game 1

Game 1 was postponed from October 25, 2026 to the following day. KBO cited rain and field conditions as the reasons for the cancellation. Protecting players and spectators also factored into the decision. The rescheduled start time is specified in [KBO's October 25 cancellation notice](https://www.koreabaseball.com/MediaNews/Notice/View.aspx?bdSe=12215).

| Item | Confirmed details |
| --- | --- |
| Competition | 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO Playoffs |
| Matchup | Samsung Lions vs. KIA Tigers |
| Game | Playoffs Game 1 |
| Original date | October 25, 2026, rained out |
| Rescheduled date | October 26, 2026 |
| Rescheduled start time | 6:30 p.m., Korea Standard Time |
| Venue | Daegu Samsung Lions Park |
| Status | Scheduled to be played on the revised date |
| Ticket seller | NOL Ticket |
| Where to check online coverage | TVING KBO League home page |

This announcement gives the scheduled start time. It does not rule out further changes due to rain. The venue is confirmed in the [Game 1 preview posted by KBO](https://www.koreabaseball.com/MediaNews/News/Preview/View.aspx?bdSe=62583).

## What Kind of Series Are the Playoffs?

The Playoffs are a **best-of-5 series, with 3 wins needed to advance** to the Korean Series. Samsung, which finished 2nd in the regular season, faces KIA, which advanced through the Semi-Playoffs. KIA finished 3rd in the regular season. Both teams' standings are listed in KBO's Game 1 preview.

The series ends when one team reaches 3 wins. This means not every scheduled game will necessarily be played. The winner faces KT, which finished 1st in the regular season, in the Korean Series. The progression of matchups can also be checked on the [TVING KBO League home page](https://www.tving.com/sports/kbo).

| Stage | Role in this matchup |
| --- | --- |
| Semi-Playoffs | The stage in which KIA secured a Playoffs berth against LG |
| Playoffs | The stage in which Samsung and KIA compete for a Korean Series berth |
| Korean Series | The stage in which the Playoffs winner competes against KT for the championship |

## Will All Later Games Also Be Pushed Back by One Day?

The postponement of Game 1 alone does not confirm all subsequent game dates. KBO's rules state that a game that cannot be played is postponed to the following day. There is also an exception allowing games to proceed as scheduled if the existing schedule is unaffected. This principle appears in [KBO's October 7 announcement on postseason operations](https://koreabaseball.com/MediaNews/Notice/View.aspx?bdSe=12183).

The October 25 cancellation notice gives the rescheduled time for Game 1. It does not include a revised schedule for subsequent games. Dates for Game 2 onward must therefore be checked against KBO's newly issued schedule.

- Distinguish the rescheduled Game 1 date from the original dates of later games.
- Do not add one day to each date on the old schedule and treat it as a confirmed schedule.
- Check KBO's schedule and results page and press releases for further scheduling updates.

## The Difference Between Cancellation Before a Game and Suspension After It Starts

This Game 1 was canceled before it started. That differs from a suspended game, in which a game already underway is resumed later. Postseason procedures for rain during a game can easily be confused with regular-season procedures.

KBO's “2026 Shinhan SOL KBO Postseason Opens October 14” states:

> In the 2026 KBO Postseason, no-game and rain-shortened-game rulings will not apply; only suspended-game rules will apply.

A suspended game resumes from the situation at the time play was stopped. A no-game ruling voids a game that has been played. A rain-shortened-game ruling ends a game early because of rain. Detailed procedures appear in [KBO's October 17 rules for rain](https://www.koreabaseball.com/MediaNews/Notice/View.aspx?bdSe=12206).

| Category | How the game is handled | Relation to this Game 1 |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Rain cancellation before the start | The game is postponed to a later date | Applies to this cancellation |
| Suspension after the start | Play resumes from the situation at the time of suspension | Different from this cancellation |
| No-game or rain-shortened-game ruling | Not applied in the 2026 postseason | Take care not to confuse these with regular-season procedures |

## What to Watch For

The announced starters for the rescheduled game must be distinguished from those in the preview published before the cancellation. The October 25 preview named Chris Paddack as Samsung's starter. It listed James Naile as KIA's starter. That article was written based on the game schedule before the rain cancellation.

Check the updated game information to determine the starters for October 26. The cancellation notice alone does not establish whether the starters will remain unchanged. The key to the series is which team reaches 3 wins first.

- Use the starting-pitcher announcements for the rescheduled game date.
- Check participating players against that day's lineup.
- If it rains during the game, check announcements about resuming or suspending play.

## How to Attend in Person or Watch Online

NOL Ticket is the official seller of tickets for in-person attendance. KBO directed fans to its website, app, and customer service center for bookings. Online coverage can be checked on TVING's KBO League home page.

| Viewing method | Official source | Conditions to check |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Online ticket booking | NOL Ticket website and app | Specific game, remaining seats, prices by seating category |
| Telephone booking and inquiries | NOL customer service center, 1544-1555 | Booking availability and handling of existing tickets |
| On-site purchase of canceled tickets | Ticket office at the relevant ballpark | If canceled tickets are available, sales are scheduled to begin 2 hours before the game |
| Online viewing | TVING KBO League home page | Rescheduled game listing, subscription conditions, regions where viewing is available |

According to KBO's October 20 notice, the booking limit is **at most 4 tickets per person**. On-site sales of canceled tickets do not guarantee that tickets will remain available. Prices by seating category must be checked on the booking screen. The sales conditions are set out in the [KBO Playoffs ticket booking notice](https://www.koreabaseball.com/MediaNews/Notice/View.aspx?bdSe=12210).

## Why You Must Check Both the Game Date and the Game on Your Ticket

Even when the date changes, you must separately check which game you booked. The rescheduled Game 1 date does not mean you can use a ticket for another game. Confusion can easily arise when the old schedule and the new notice appear together in search results.

The rain cancellation notice does not state the conditions for using or canceling existing tickets. There is therefore no basis for assuming that tickets will be automatically refunded or remain valid for entry. Check NOL Ticket's guidance for cancellation fees and processing deadlines as well.

| What to check | Information to compare | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Game schedule | Game number, rescheduled date, start time | Confirm which game takes place and when |
| Booking details | Game number, seat, booking number | Confirm which game your ticket is for |
| Ticket seller's notice | Ticket validity, cancellation conditions, processing deadlines | Confirm the conditions for keeping or canceling your ticket |

## Frequently Asked Questions

### When Will the Rescheduled Game 1 Be Played?

It is scheduled for October 26, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. The time is in Korea Standard Time. Check KBO's follow-up notices for any further changes.

### Will Existing Tickets Be Automatically Refunded?

This cannot be determined from KBO's rain cancellation notice alone. The notice does not state how tickets will be handled. Check NOL Ticket's game-specific guidance and your booking details.

### Has the Date for Game 2 Also Been Confirmed?

The October 25 cancellation notice does not include a revised schedule for subsequent games. Dates calculated independently using the postponement rule may differ from the official schedule. Check KBO's schedule and results page for the new schedule.

### Which Schedule Should I Follow if TVING Shows the Original Date?

Use KBO's more recent rescheduling announcement for the game date and time. The schedule checked on TVING was marked as current as of October 21. When accessing the broadcast, also check the platform's updated listings.

Game 1 of the 2026 KBO Playoffs between Samsung and KIA was rained out.
