MLB’s “2026 postseason schedule, results and how to watch” marks conditional games with the following phrase: if necessary This means a game is played only if needed. It applies to Games 5~7 in MLB’s schedule guidance. A broadcast listing for one of those dates does not guarantee that the game will take place. How are the participating teams and ballparks determined? The winners of the two League Championship Series advance to the World Series. The American League Championship Series is abbreviated ALCS. The National League Championship Series is abbreviated NLCS. “ALCS winner” on a schedule means the American League winner. “NLCS winner” means the National League winner. These labels do not mean a specific team has secured a place. Home-field advantage goes to the participating team with the better regular-season record. This is the rule in MLB’s postseason format guidance. The specific ballparks need to be confirmed along with the final matchup. How to interpret Korean time and U.S. broadcast information To determine the viewing date in Korea, you need to account for the game’s start time and the time difference from the U.S. schedule. ET in MLB guidance means U.S. Eastern Time. It is not always the same as the local time at the host ballpark. U.S. Eastern Daylight Time will be in effect during the scheduled 2026 games. Korean Standard Time is 13 hours ahead of U.S. Eastern Time during this period. Daylight saving time ends in the U.S. on November 1, local date. The date is confirmed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s time guidance. Item to check How to interpret it Start time announced in ET Add 13 hours to convert to Korean time during the scheduled games Evening game in the U.S. Note that it will be the next day in Korea Game with no confirmed start time Do not record a Korean date and time as confirmed Schedule displayed in Korean time Do not add the time difference again U.S. broadcast channel listing Check availability in Korea separately U.S. broadcast rights information alone does not establish availability in Korea. Korean coverage should be checked separately against the domestic rights holder’s official schedule. Even if a service has the same name, its availability can differ by country. What to watch for The key to following the series is how many wins each team still needs after each game. Each additional win changes what the next game could mean. The points below do not assume any particular results. Series wins: Watch which team can reach 4 wins first. Conditional games: After earlier games end, check whether Games 5~7 are still needed. Home games: After the final matchup is announced, check the ballpark for each game. Viewing schedule: Check the date and first-pitch time separately. Frequently asked questions Will the World Series necessarily continue through October 31? October 31 (United States) is the scheduled date for Game 7 if it is needed. If one team wins 4 games before then, the series ends. The schedule could also change. Why are games starting with Game 5 conditional? One team could have 4 wins by the end of Game 4. In that case, Game 5 and later games will not be played. Whether Games 6 and 7 are played also depends on the win totals after the preceding games. Have game start times been announced? As of the reference date, World Series start times have not been announced. Do not assume they will be the same as those of other postseason games. Check whether times have been added to MLB’s game-by-game schedule.
