Busan Film Festival 2026 Ticket Dates and Prices

The 31st Busan International Film Festival will be held from October 6–15, 2026 (Republic of Korea), around the Busan Cinema Center. Official ticket sales will open in two phases at 2:00 p.m. on September 17 and 21. Before booking, prepare to complete a new registration and mobile phone verification.

The schedule is based on the September 2, 2026 (Republic of Korea) announcement, and the prices and policies follow the ticketing guide for the 31st festival.

How do I book tickets?

Register through the official ticketing site, then select your desired screening. Even if you booked tickets last year, you must register again this year. Check the rating for each film before payment.

1. Note the date and screening code from the official screening schedule.
2. Complete mobile phone verification during new ticket-buyer registration.
3. Log in using your registered mobile phone number and six-digit numeric password.
4. Select Book Tickets when sales open for the relevant program.
5. Choose up to two tickets per screening code, confirm the price, and pay.

Payment methods include credit cards, debit cards, and mobile payment services. When traffic is high, users are admitted according to their queue number. If you book an additional screening code, you will be assigned a new queue number.

Using Chrome and disabling pop-up blocking are recommended. Simultaneous booking from multiple devices, browsers, or tabs under the same account is restricted. See the BIFF Ticketing Guide for detailed instructions.

Festival Schedule and Ticket Sale Dates

Ticket sale dates vary depending on the program you wish to attend. Tickets for general screenings are available beginning September 21 (South Korea). Be sure to distinguish between the screening schedule release date and the ticket sale start date.

Ticket Price Comparison by Program

Tickets for general screenings cost KRW 10,000 each. Film screenings and separate lectures have different prices. The amounts below apply to the 31st festival in 2026.

Check the price for Open Cinema and Community BIFF during the relevant screening. The common price list reviewed does not specify separate prices for them. See the BIFF Ticketing Guide for the scope of the price list.

What Kind of Film Festival Is It?

The 31st Busan International Film Festival features both film screenings and conversations with filmmakers. The official selection includes 246 films from 59 countries. A total of 315 films will be screened, including 69 Community BIFF films.

The opening film is director Kim Jong-kwan’s Day and Night Are for Each Other. Its running time in the official film listing is 80 minutes. Distinguish this running time from the total duration of the Opening Ceremony when planning your schedule.

Compare your film choices with the schedules for conversations with filmmakers. The September 11 announcement included the lecture and discussion lineup. Check the date and venue of each event you wish to attend separately.

The organizers also announced Academy submission eligibility for the Busan Award winner. They explained that the winning film now has a pathway for submission to the International Feature Film category. Do not interpret this as eligibility applying to every invited film.

Choosing a Screening Based on Subtitles and GV

Even for the same film, check the GV notation and subtitle information for each screening. GV details may change without prior notice. English interpretation is not provided at some GVs.

When choosing a screening, also consider travel after the film ends. Leave enough time in your schedule to move to another theater. Check the precise meanings of the notations in the official schedule by date.

Cancellation Deadlines and Fees

Cancellations are available until 60 minutes before the screening begins. Fees vary according to the cancellation date. The amounts below are charged per ticket.

This statement applies to the period beginning two days before the screening date. A fee is charged during this period even if you cancel immediately after purchase. If the schedule is changed or canceled due to festival circumstances, refunds are issued without a fee.

1. For a mobile ticket, open the relevant booking under Booking Confirmation/Cancellation.
2. Select the seat to cancel under Details.
3. Check the fee, then complete the cancellation.

On-Site Box Office Periods and Purchase Conditions

Remaining seats and canceled tickets may be purchased on site. General seats are sold online. Visiting a box office does not guarantee that your desired seat will be available.

The Busan Cinema Center Outdoor Box Office operates from 08:30–20:30. Hours for other box offices vary according to their screening schedules. Before visiting, check the box office operating schedule.

Discounts and Support for Digitally Disadvantaged Groups

Discounted tickets may be used only after supporting documents have been verified. The discount for seniors, people with disabilities, and national merit recipients is KRW 3,000. Those who purchase discounted tickets online must have their documentation verified on site.

The support desk handles general screenings taking place that day or the following day. Paid events such as the Opening and Closing Ceremonies are excluded. Seats are limited, so first check the official support information.

Mobile Ticket Admission and Preparing for Early Screenings

Present an actual mobile ticket or paper ticket when entering. Screenshots and booking confirmation notifications are not accepted as admission tickets. Open and check your mobile ticket screen before leaving.

1. Log in to the ticket booking page.
2. Open your booking under Booking Confirmation/Cancellation.
3. Press the Mobile Ticket button to display your ticket.

Admission to general screening venues is available in principle beginning 15 minutes before the screening. Admission is restricted once 15 minutes have passed after the start. Your reserved seat may not be guaranteed after the screening begins.

For screenings before department stores open, also check the entrance. Visitors walking to CGV Centum City are directed to Gates 3 and 4 of the department store. Visitors to Lotte Cinema Centum City are directed to the leftmost entrance at the main entrance on the first floor.
