For hospitals and pharmacies open during Chuseok, search E-Gen by region and visit date. Select the date you need from September 24–27, 2026. Before leaving, call to confirm whether registration is available. If there are urgent symptoms, call 119 before searching.

How to Find Open Hospitals and Pharmacies on E-Gen

Specify the region you will visit and the treatment date in E-Gen’s hospital and pharmacy search. Before searching, have the address of where you are staying ready. Also note the patient’s age and symptoms. There is no deadline for conducting a search, but each institution closes registration at its own time.

1. Go to E-Gen. Open the hospital and pharmacy finder or holiday medical care search page.
2. Set the region you will visit. Select the province or metropolitan city and the city, county, or district. If the map location is incorrect, reset it using the address.
3. Select the visit date. Choose whether you need a hospital, clinic, or pharmacy. If you are visiting now, check the current operating status.
4. Narrow the results to the required medical specialty. Check the address and contact information in the search results. Also check the consultation hours for that date.
5. Call before you leave. Ask whether registration will still be available when you arrive. If you need prescription medication, also check which pharmacy you can use.

Which Dates Should You Search for During Chuseok 2026?

Search separately for the Chuseok public holidays from September 24–26 and Sunday, September 27. Chuseok Day is September 25 (South Korea). Even institutions participating during the holiday period may have different operating hours for each date. The schedule is based on the “2026 Calendar Guidelines”.

Do not use last year’s Chuseok list as this year’s operating schedule. In public health center notices, check the applicable period stated in the text. If an attachment has been revised, check the latest file.

Start your search for institutions with E-Gen, then confirm the information through the appropriate channel for your situation. If you are looking only for a pharmacy, you can use the Holiday Keeper Pharmacy service. In an emergency, follow 119’s guidance first.

Does 129 Provide Consultations During the Holiday Period at the Same Hours?

For consultation hours during Chuseok 2026, check 129’s notice for that holiday period. The standard general consultation hours are 09:00–18:00 on weekdays. The 24-hour emergency assistance consultation service is a separate category. Do not interpret it as the operating hours for all medical consultations.

129 issued a separate notice about hospital and pharmacy information for Lunar New Year 2026. That Lunar New Year operating notice cannot be applied unchanged to Chuseok. Check the notices on the Health and Welfare Call Center website for the latest information.

Nighttime, Pediatric, and Dental Care by Service Requirements

You must confirm that the institution can provide the treatment you need before making your selection. Even if a hospital is open, the medical specialty you need may not be operating. Explain the patient’s age and symptoms by phone.

Moonlight Children’s Hospitals provide care for children with mild conditions at night and on holidays. Do not assume that they operate throughout the entire Chuseok period simply because they are designated as such. Check each institution’s schedule for the date of your visit. Also check whether public late-night pharmacies operate on the relevant date. Do not interpret the term “late-night operation” as meaning that they are open 24 hours. Check public health center notices about public late-night pharmacies as well.

How Should You Choose Between an Emergency Room and Holiday Outpatient Care?

If there are urgent symptoms, contact 119 immediately. Emergency rooms treat patients who require urgent evaluation and care. General outpatient care should be used within the scope of services offered by the institution.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare advises calling 119 for consultation when serious symptoms are present. Emergency responders may transport the patient to an appropriate hospital based on the severity of the condition. Do not interpret emergency room search results as a medical appointment. Do not personally take an urgent patient from hospital to hospital. Tell 119 your current location and the patient’s condition.

What Should You Confirm by Phone Before Visiting?

When calling, ask whether registration is available before asking about the end of consultation hours. The schedule in the search results may differ from actual operations. E-Gen’s hospital and clinic search guide also asks users to confirm by phone.

1. State the visit date. Clarify whether you are visiting today or on another day during the holiday period.
2. State your expected arrival time. Confirm whether you can register at that time.
3. State the patient’s age. Briefly explain the symptoms and when they began.
4. Ask about the care you need. Confirm whether medical staff in the relevant specialty will be providing care.
5. Confirm the visit location. Ask for directions to the treatment location and entrance.

Write down the names of medications being taken to prepare for the consultation. Also note any medication allergies. If prescription dispensing is required, prepare the prescription.

Also Confirm Whether You Can Obtain Medication After Hospital Treatment

Checking both hospitals and pharmacies can reduce travel after treatment. Even if a hospital is operating, nearby pharmacies may be closed. Do not assume that the medication you need can be dispensed based solely on a pharmacy’s business hours.

1. Search for pharmacies near the medical institution. Check their operating hours on the visit date.
2. Ask the hospital about available pharmacies. Decide where to go after treatment.
3. After receiving a prescription, ask the pharmacy whether it can dispense it. Provide the exact medication name and dosage.
4. State when you will arrive at the pharmacy. Confirm whether dispensing requests can be accepted at that time.

This procedure follows from the need to search for hospitals and pharmacies separately. Do not assume that the stock of a specific medication has been confirmed solely from the search list. Contact the pharmacy regarding stock or prescription-related decisions.

What Should You Do If There Are No Search Results or the Location Is Incorrect?

If there are no search results, first recheck the location and date settings. When visiting your hometown, your mobile phone may display a different region. If it remains difficult to find an institution after changing the settings, contact the local public health center.

1. Check the map location. Move the center of the search to the address where you are actually staying.
2. Check the date. Distinguish between current operating conditions and a future visit date.
3. Broaden the search area. Also check nearby cities, counties, or districts within traveling distance.
4. Check local notices. Look for Chuseok medical care information on the public health center’s website.
5. Use telephone guidance. For information on medical institutions, contact the appropriate channel, such as 129. Call 119 in an urgent situation.

No results do not necessarily mean that every nearby institution is closed. The map location and filters affect the results. Even if you find a hospital, you still need to confirm by phone before leaving.

Common Mistakes When Reading Holiday Medical Care Information

Do not interpret the regular schedule as the operating hours on Chuseok Day. Even when the institution’s name is the same, the applicable dates may differ. Search again to verify saved screens.

Where Can You Check Holiday Medical Fees?

Ask the institution you are visiting which charges apply. Do not apply temporary surcharge rates from previous holidays to 2026. Do not interpret the compensation paid to medical institutions as the amount the patient must pay.

• Ask whether a surcharge applies on the visit date and at the visit time.
• After treatment, check the patient-paid items on the receipt.
• Check the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service for explanations of the system.
• In an urgent situation, do not delay calling for help to check costs.
